Demonization of Toyota

February4

Okay… if you are sitting back listening to the non-stop demonization of the Toyota brand and you are buying into it…you are a blazing idiot.  Not just a plain idiot.  Not a fool.  You are a blazing idiot!!

The government is in an all out campaign to ruin any car manufacturer that is not Government Motors.  Are you really so brain dead that you don’t see this?

While Government Motors, government employees, public officials (like the totally moronic Ray LaHood – has he ever made any announcement that did not require a retraction?), and the government controlled media are lambasting Toyota and Honda (who will be next – look out Mazda) Chevy’s are blowing up, burning up, and running out of control.  Did the steering problem with the Chevy Cobalt make headlines?  Take a look here at this huge list of Chevy recalls that are just for vans/minivans.

I feel very sorry for anyone who has lost a loved one due to a problem with any car but geesh. Everyone is all bent out of shape because an off duty cop didn’t know how to stop his car unless the brakes were working and crashed through a traffic light and people died.  Look…he is partly to blame.  If you do not know how to drive a car don’t get behind the wheel.  That means you need to know how the car works so you can deal with emergencies.  What kind of moron does not know to put a car in neutral, downshift, throw on the emergency brake, or drive into the shoulder/grassy area, if it is out of control?

There are a lot of options that are not, get on the cell phone and screech at 911.  Did he really think that the 911 operator was going to be able to help?  Learning to drive a car is much more than learning where these things (gas, brake, steer, radio, wipers, lights) are and how to turn them on/off.

Accidents happen.  Some cars have problems.  They are machines.  Machines break down.  Machines are only as good as the operator.  I’m sorry but the guy driving that car is partially to blame.  Seriously…you are going down the highway at 100+ MPH and all you can think to do to try to slow down your car and save your family is to call 911?

The government is doing their best to put a little money in the GM coffers by making you afraid to buy anything else.  If you fall to see this… you deserve what you get.  I am not fond of Toyota myself having once bought a real lemon of a Celica.  Having said that, I’d rather own one of these ‘problem’ Toyotas than any piece of shit that Government Motors or its overpaid employees produce.

Just more proof that Americans are running around without engaging their brain cells.  Logic people… logic.  Try employing a little.

Jets! Jets! Jets!

January17

New York Jets

In reality I am pretty disgusted by the entire sports industry.  These guys are just WAY overpaid and we give them more honor than they are due.  I have not wasted a penny of my money on professional sports for over ten years and I am pretty proud of that fact.  I have not contributed to the problem.  Kids idolize these guys, most of whom lack anything that resembles a moral compass.  I live in Cleveland.  The Browns give us nothing to cheer about.

I like Peyton Manning.  I lived near Knoxville, TN when he played for the Vols.  He is a really good guy, unlike most in his profession.  One story totally off point.  One time there were a slew of college kids lined up for blocks, out in the cold night, waiting in line for Vols football tickets.  Peyton Manning had pizza delivered to them.  That’s respectable.  I love my uncle who lives in Indy and is a big Colts fan.  I could easily find reason to cheer for the Colts.    But I digress.

When I followed professional football I was a Bears fan for many years until I switched to the Broncos.  For the past ten years I really didn’t care.  This year I am pulling for the Jets.

This may make no logical sense to most of you but…  About a year and half ago my best friend’s husband died suddenly (mostly because he didn’t have health insurance-I’ll rant about that another day).  He was an avid Jets fan; a die-hard.  He even taught their dog to ‘cheer’ when the Jets scored.  He would place bets on them every year and every year he was disappointed.  So, I am cheering for the Jets for Vince and I’m pretty sure wherever he is today he is cheering them on too.  I also think it would make Kim pretty happy to see them go all the way.

GO JETS!!!!!

Haitian Earthquake

January17

This week’s devastating earthquake in Haiti has brought several things to my mind.

First of all, I am usually disgusted with humanity.  I am often embarrassed by my species.  My first thoughts of humanity regarding the earthquake were of how we rally to help each other in times of great need.  It helped to restore some small fragment of faith in humanity, albeit short-lived.

Second, we are just animals.  I wouldn’t even say we are ‘higher-thinking’ animals anymore; it’s not an adjective that belongs to us.  We are the only species that kills for no reason.  That certainly doesn’t put us up there on the top of the higher-thinking animal chain.  Several people interviewed on news programs predicted how the people would start to behave if help didn’t arrive.  They were right.  Pure animals.  Violence sets in.  Pack mentality.  The good in humans disappears.  In times of crisis we see the core of people, what they are really made of.  If in catastrophic times you think the government owes you something and will be there to help you, you are bound to die.

Third, they aren’t helping themselves.  When you are dirt poor and have no way to feed children, STOP HAVING THEM!  The country is extremely over populated and impoverished.  These two things go hand in hand.  People were flooding the airports, not to get a plane, simply because they didn’t know where else to go and thought it would be a good place to hang out and wait.  Wrong!  They were actually blocking runways.  The assistance they so desperately needed was circling the airfield unable to land.

They were offered energy bars but misunderstood the “manufactured on” date and interpreted it as the expiration date.  One bozo with a big mouth and a little brain started telling people to not eat them, screaming that they are bad, poison.  The crowd believed the defacto leader and declined food, even though many other people were telling them they were fine.  I think it is important to add that the crowd and the bozo were black and the people delivering the food and telling them the food was fine were white.  Ignorance, racism (against whites) and unfounded distrust left many hungry.  Unbelievable. Yes, these folks have flown in from all over the world, left their families and personal comforts to bring you poison.  (strong sarcasm)

Fourth, even though our government totally sucks and will be the death of our republic, it is better than nothing.  Haiti should serve as an example of what can happen when you have corrupt narcissists ruling the roost; a non-functioning government.  Gawd, I fear for us.  We’ve been sending this country nearly $300 million a year.  WTF?  Where did they spend it?

Fifth, I watched the Obamessiah make the announcement that Clinton and Bush would head up a relief effort to raise funds for the Haitians.  It looked somewhat out of place, but standing there at the podium was Dubya with this little grin on his face.  Then, I got it.  He was really happy to be doing something, to help, to be part of something.  He was genuinely happy to be involved.  That grin was like that of the little kid that finds out they landed a role in the school play.  You have to admit, he’s pretty much just sat back and stayed out of the way of the new morons in DC (give them enough rope and they’ll hang themselves).  I just saw something in him I’d never seen before.

Sixth, again in a disaster the U.S. seems to lead the way in providing assistance, no matter where in the world the disaster occurs.  Our military is pretty amazing.  They just moved in and set up shop and started to make things happen.  Yes, there are also many other countries and non-profit organizations providing all kinds of assistance but our military leads the way.  Makes me a little proud.  It’s a shame some folks think we need to apologize for our military actions.

Seventh, they no longer feel they need to warn you about graphic images.  They are an everyday occurrence.  We’ve become desensitized to it.  Sad.

Eighth, this is just notable.  Not that it means anything; I just noticed it.  CNN is pretty much covering the events in Haiti non-stop.  They give you some other tidbits here and there but it’s all Haiti, all the time.  Fox News is pretty much business as usual.  Sure there is a little more time spent on Haiti but they are still name calling, throwing out innuendo, bad mouthing the Democrats.  Okay, so as I say below, someone needs to keep an eye on those corrupt thugs in DC.  There has to be balance somewhere between the two.

(Side note) I refuse to watch MSNBC since the government became part owner and their ‘leaders’ were admittedly proud to take credit for putting an inexperienced thug in the White House, so I have no idea how they are covering it.  I would guess they are still just obsessed with prisons and continue to air hours of programming consisting of nothing but criminals in prisons.

Ninth, we need to keep an extra watchful eye on DC over the next couple of weeks.  They’ll pull some nasty sneaky shit while we are all looking in the direction of Haiti.

Bright side:  There were no tsunamis.

Trajectory Towards Idiocracy

January17

So, it’s still gloomy here in Cleveland.  This morning we were engulfed in a super dense fog.  You could only see in front of you a few blocks, less than a quarter mile.  As I drove to the grocery store I was amazed at the stupidty, yet again.  At least 75% of the idiots on the highway did not have their headlights on.  As I drove past them I would say, “You deserve to be hit by one of the other idiots without their lights on.”

I really shouldn’t be shocked anymore by the rampant stupidity in humans, but I am.  Yet again this week some states lowered the standards for high school competency exams.  Why?  Because more and more people are not smart enough to graduate and gods forbid they be allowed to fail.  What would that do their self esteem?  Bullshit!  This backwards mentality is bad for all of us.

I am a trained counselor although I no longer work in the profession, mostly because of the stupidity that permeates the mental health field.  The profession has become part of the problem.  The job of a counselor or psychologist is to find where the patient is maladjusted and help them become adjusted.  Instead, the profession now just makes excuses for people, labels them, medicates them, and the bad behavior continues, sometimes grows.  This is wrong.

Humans are devolving…in droves.  The people who are supposed to help humanity have only made things worse by making excuses for bad behavior.  Then the maladjusted people and their ‘leaders’ tell the rest of us we have to accept these totally messed up people, just as they are, never expect them to change or act like decent human beings, and never have to face the truth.  Then the rest of us are called names and treated like we (the ones who are not devolving and still working to live as decent human beings) are the bad guys.

I am so sick of political correctness and being surrounded by morons.  I don’t make resolutions but I am determined to never again let this shit slide.  If you act stupid around me I’m gonna call you on it.  I’m going to speak the truth.  I’m not letting idiots walk all over me or call the shots anymore…well at least not without some resistance on my part.  I just can’t stand back and let these morons take over our society without a fight.

The bright side: In a world full of idiots, morons, and slackers, the rest of us shine a little brighter.

Welcome to the middle.

January15

This is the place for you to get inside my head and me to get out of it.  It’s a gloomy day in Cleveland.

Bright side: There’s peace and balance in the middle.
